Mountain Film in Telluride is more than a film festival. It is a distinctive blend of films, speakers, gallery exhibits, slide presentations, seminars and on-the-street conversations that demonstrate the power of visual arts to instigate change. As a four-day forum featuring the trendsetters that question the present in order to plan a sustainable future, Mountainfilm seeks to honor and enlighten our swiftly evolving world. Our goal of highlighting the uniqueness of wild spaces is achieved through a balanced program chosen for its adventurous, cultural and social content. Therefore, Mountainfilm accepts and screens films on a broad range of subjects that include but are not limited to mountains and mountain sports. Mountains have, after all, become the expanded metaphor for both the nature and the process of spirit and survival, one that no living being can escape. As declared by the United Nations in 2002, the International Year of the Mountains: "If you drink water, you are connected to mountains." All who attend Mountainfilm are inspired for years to come. www.mountainfilm.org, (970) 728-4123
